A conversation with Andrea Kersten, secretary at Hotel Adler Asperg

Andrea Kersten grew up in Stuttgart and is a trained tax assistant. She has been working as a secretary at Hotel Adler Asperg since 2019.

What tasks does your job involve?

My work includes tasks in the areas of accounting, HR, administration, dunning and debt collection. I monitor invoice payments, support the trainees in administrative matters and take care of general commercial correspondence.

What do you like most about your work?

What I like most is the wide-ranging and varied activities, as well as the co-operation with all departments of the company and working with the members of the Adler team. This gives you an insight into all areas of the company.

In addition to the 70 rooms in the hotel, Adler Asperg operates four different restaurants and offers a catering service, among other things. What are the challenges of this business model for the accounting department?

What I find most challenging is the responsibility for ensuring that everything runs smoothly and for monitoring and controlling the commercial processes in the various departments and areas. My motivation is to fulfil this properly.

In your opinion, why is Adler Asperg worth a visit or stay?

In my opinion, the number of restaurants gives every guest the opportunity to savour the diversity of our cuisine. The hotel's swimming pool and lounge area invite you to linger and after a swim you can savour our home-made ‘Bircher Muesli’ at breakfast to the full. For me, this is a great start to the day.
