Alan Wong, celebrity chef from Hawaii and Oliver Altherr, a gastronomy expert and CEO of Marché International, have joined the Adler Asperg kitchen team this week. They are working together on the preparations for a private event for around 300 guests, which will take place at the weekend under the theme "Hawaii".

A total of 50 Adler Asperg employees will work in the event. The Adler team will take care of the food, drinks, crockery and cutlery. The Adler chefs will then put the finishing touches to the food on site in the food truck. The 300 guests will be welcomed with a "Mai Tai in Pineapple" and then enjoy a 6-course meal with dishes such as "A Trio of Poke", "Soup & Sandwich" and "Veal with Miso, Pack Choy and Rice".

"For us it is a special challenge and an honour to organise the culinary part of this event for our customer" - says Christian Heller, director of the Hotel Adler Asperg. "We are looking forward to the cooperation with Alan Wong, who has come to the Adler especially from Hawaii. We will not only work with one of the most famous chefs in the world, but also learn more about his culinary creativity and Hawaiian cuisine. Surely this experience will enrich our team".

At the beginning of his career, Alan Wong worked with the well-known chef André Soltner in New York. He is considered one of the co-founders of Hawaiian regional cuisine and has received the James Beard Award as the best chef in the Pacific Northwest, among others. In his dishes, Wong combines traditional Hawaiian ingredients such as fish, seafood, wild game and fresh vegetables with flavours from Asia and Europe.

He has written several cookbooks and has appeared on various cooking shows. He cooked for Barack Obama at a major event at the White House, among others.

Since 1956, the Adler Asperg has offered a catering service for private and business events from two to 2,000 guests. This service is offered flexibly in a "modular system" and adapted to the wishes of the customers.
